Andrea Snellen, owner/operator
Andrea is a fairly new resident to Monterey Bay. She was raised in West Michigan and has had the opportunity to live in many different fascinating locations. She’s spent considerable time in St. Augustine, Portland, Las Vegas, Chicago, Bali, Humboldt County, and now scenic Monterey. She is absolutely in love with the charm and natural beauty of the area, as well as the welcoming and friendly demeanor of its residents. Andrea is a California Licensed Electrologist and member of the American Electrology Association. She is proud to have received her formal training from the prestigious Monterey Bay Institute of Electrology, where she also spent time as a Clinical Instructor. She is grateful to have honed her skills under the mentorship of Randa Thurman, an esteemed veteran and distinguished expert in the industry. inspiration
Andrea spent many rewarding years in the mortgage and title insurance industries, and had a very successful real estate career in Florida. She later engaged her love of yoga, and embarked upon an exhilarating chapter in Bali launching a wellness retreat center. Her life path is quite diverse and she thrives when learning new things and having new experiences. Andrea was drawn to Electrology when she saw the amazing results in her own life, as well as a friend's. She had witnessed the emotional burden and rigorous maintenance routine of a dear friend who had hormonal facial hair; and the most profound transformation of confidence that electrolysis brought for her. This has since been what inspires Andrea in her daily practice, as she helps to bring this same life-changing relief to her own clients. “There is nothing quite like being there for someone who breaks down in tears of joy, finally overcoming a problem that has brought so much pain and insecurity in their life. It moves me knowing I have helped them achieve that”, she has said. As an empath, she feels a deep connection to her clients and their struggle with unwanted hair, and is dedicated to bringing emotional support and understanding throughout their process. Approach
A dedicated work ethic, a desire to understand facts, and doing things the right way have always been intrinsic parts of Andrea’s personality. In Electrolysis treatments, this translates into a keen attention to detail and care during the process as if it were her own skin she were working on. She takes great pride in her work, and the health and integrity of her clients' skin is always top priority. In treatments you will often find her quiet and hyper-focused on the task at hand, being mindful of your paid minutes and getting as much work done as efficiently as possible. personality
Andrea graduated from UNF in 2008, majoring in psychology. You could say her main obsession in life has been the evolution of consciousness and exploration of Spirit. She has done a deep dive into her own shadow work, and spent the better part of 25 years absorbing everything she could get her hands on in the new age realm of psychology, eastern philosophy, yoga, meditation, shamanism, and natural health. She has a breadth of interests and topics of discussion, and loves going “deep” with everyone she meets. She is friendly and humble in character, and believes we are here to connect and inspire one another toward wholeness and “seeing ourselves more clearly”. In her free time, Andrea enjoys nature hikes with her beloved and doggies, her Ashtanga yoga practice, travel, energy healing & bodywork, sewing, writing, painting, crafting, gardening, snowboarding, watching documentaries, and reading books that offer fresh perspectives and keep her open to evolving her wisdom and sense of Self.
